Dr. Flavia Rodrigues Dias

Dr. Flavia Rodrigues Dias is a board-certified dermatologist from Brazil with over eight years of experience in clinical and surgical dermatology. Her clinical interests include hair and scalp disorders, inflammatory skin diseases, and skin cancer diagnosis and management, including dermoscopy and advanced skin imaging.

Dr. Flavia ranked first in competitive selection processes for dermatology residency programs at several state and federal public hospitals in Brazil. She completed her specialist dermatology training at the Padre Bento Hospital Complex in São Paulo, a tertiary referral centre for dermatological care. During her residency, she gained extensive experience managing a wide range of skin, hair and nail conditions, including complex dermatological diseases, as well as skin cancer and dermatologic surgery. In 2019, she was awarded Board Certification in Dermatology by the Brazilian Society of Dermatology (SBD) and the Brazilian Medical Association (AMB), following comprehensive theoretical and practical examinations.

Following her dermatology training, Dr. Flavia completed a one-year Fellowship in Hair Restoration and Scalp Reconstruction at the Municipal Public Servants’ Hospital of São Paulo (IAMSPE), further developing her expertise in the medical and surgical management of hair and scalp disorders. She subsequently practised as a Consultant Dermatologist in São Paulo, with a practice encompassing general dermatology, hair disorders and hair transplantation.

Since 2025, Dr. Flavia has been practising in Australia as a Dermatology Fellow at Sinclair Dermatology in Melbourne. As an internationally trained dermatologist, she is currently undertaking a Dermatology Fellowship through the Australasian College of Dermatologists (ACD) towards FACD recognition via the Specialist Pathway, with clinical training at Sinclair Dermatology and The Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne.

Reflecting her commitment to ongoing professional development and to internationally recognised standards of practice in dermatology, Dr. Flavia has successfully completed two international specialist examinations:
- UK: The Specialty Certificate Examination (SCE) in Dermatology, administered by the Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom
- EU: The European Board of Dermatovenereology Diploma (UEMS-EBDV) examination

Alongside her clinical practice, Dr. Flavia is actively involved in dermatology research, scientific publishing
and medical education. She has authored peer-reviewed scientific publications and textbook chapters, presented at national and international scientific meetings, and contributed to specialist education through lectures, workshops and surgical training. She currently serves as Coordinator of the Membership Committee of the Brazilian Association of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABCRC) and as an Editor of O Folículo, the association’s scientific journal.
