Dr Georgina Hollmann is a Colombian trained doctor with an interest in skin cancer. She works closely with Professor Sinclair as a dermatology fellow and aspires to obtain further qualifications in this field. Dr Hollmann completed a Master’s degree in Skin Cancer at the University of Queensland. She is also a member of the Skin Cancer College of Australia. Dr Hollmann is not a specialist dermatologist.
Her interest in skin cancer started at the very beginning of her medical training in Colombia. She first recognized the serious nature of the disease through a patient she was treating in a wound management clinic. That motivated her to undertake further research in the disease and to move to Australia, which has the highest incidence of skin cancer in the world.
Dr Hollman also works in our clinical trials centre, undertaking research into the development of new medications to treat inflammatory skin diseases such as eczema, alopecia areata, psoriasis, urticaria, rosacea, hidradenitis suppurativa, vitiligo and lupus.
